The largest airport in Uruguay is called Carrasco International Airport <\/strong>or General Ces\u00e1reo L. Berisso International Airport<\/strong>. It is located in the Carrasco neighbourhood and it serves the capital city of Uruguay, Montevideo<\/strong>. Being the busiest airport in the country, it handles over 2 million passengers each year. There are several airlines operating the airport offering connections to the rest of South America, as well as North America and Europe. The airport serves as a hub for Amazonas Uruguay<\/strong>, and among the other larger airlines are Gol Airlines <\/strong>and LATAM<\/strong>. The airport is located about 18 km from the city centre of Montevideo. Getting to the city can be done by bus, taxi or a private transfer. Capit\u00e1n de Corbeta Carlos A. Curbelo International Airport<\/strong>, as it is fully named, is an airport serving a popular resort in Uruguay, Punta del Este <\/strong>and city of Maldonado<\/strong>. This airport is also popularly called Laguna del Sauce International Airport and it is the second-largest airport in Uruguay. Each year, the airport handles around 160 000 passengers. Among the airlines operating the airport are Aerolineas Argentinas<\/strong>, Azul Brazilian Airlines <\/strong>and Flybondi<\/strong>. The airport is located around 15 km from Maldonado city centre and around 20 km from Punta del Este downtown. Reaching both cities can be done by a city bus, taxi or a private transfer.
