Although Slovakia is a fairly small country, it actually has 4 international airports which all are used for commercial air traffic<\/strong>. The airports are located by the following cities, Bratislava in the western part, Banska Bystrica in the center, Podrad in the northern part and Kosice in the south eastern part of Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Bratislava Airport <\/span>–  IATA code BTS <\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The M. R. \u0160tef\u00e1nik Airport (Bratislava Airport) is the busiest airport in Slovakia<\/strong>, located about 9 km northeast of the city center. The airport is base for Slovak Government Flying Service which is the national carrier. Companies such as Ryanair, Go2sky and AirExplore<\/strong> also have a base at Bratislava airport. The airport is well connected with the city center (here you can see the various travel options<\/a>). If you are travelling to Austria or Gyor area in Hungary, a good alternative to Vienna airport <\/strong>would be Bratislava. If you need to continue your trip to any other cities in Slovakia or in Austria, you have many connections from the main bus station<\/a> or the railway station in Bratislava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Ko\u0161ice Airport <\/span>– IATA code KSC<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Ko\u0161ice International Airport ist the second busiest airport in Slovakia<\/strong>. The airport is located 6 km air distance from the centre of Kosice. Getting to and from the airport is possible by public bus which takes about 20 minutes or by 10- minute taxi. Majority of the flights from Kosice are seasonal<\/strong>, but there are also whole year routes to Vienna, Warsaw, Istanbul and London<\/strong>. Due to the airport’s position next to the Hungarian border, quite a few Hungarians use the airport as an alternative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Poprad\u2013Tatry Airport <\/span>– IATA code TAT <\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Poprad\u2013Tatry Airport<\/strong> is the third busiest Slovakian airport, around 5 km east – northeast of Poprad. Easiest way of getting to and from the airport to the city is by taxi or pre-booked transfer. Although all the routes from Poprad airport are seasonal, there are all-year-round routes to London<\/strong>. Skiing lovers will be especially pleased to learn that the airport is close to some of the most popular skiing resort in Slovakia<\/strong>, such as Tatransk\u00e1 Lomnica, \u0160trbsk\u00e9 Pleso and Jasn\u00e1 N\u00edzke Tatry<\/strong>. If you decide to visit some of these resorts, we advise pre-booking a transfer from the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last airport on our list is Silac or Tri Duby Airport<\/strong>, the smallest airport in Slovakia. Currently, it has an international route, however, all routes operated from the airport are seasonal. The airport is located 2.5 km north of Silac. The much larger city Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica<\/strong> is about 12 km from the airport, with also Zvolen nearby. Another grea news is that within a range of 50 km from the airport, there are more than 20 ski resorts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
