It is the country\u2019s main airport as well as the main airport in Europe in terms of direct flights to Latin American cities. The air line <\/span><b>Madrid &#8211; Barcelona <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">known under the name \u2018puente a\u00e9reo\u2019 is the leading in the world by the number of flights per week. Since 2006, the airport has 5 terminals and a title of the <\/span><b>world\u2019s biggest airport <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the surface of its terminals area. In 2015 the airport marked the traffic of <\/span><b>45 million passengers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_get_from_Madrid_Airport_to_Madrid\"><\/span>How to get from Madrid Airport to Madrid<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Airport_Shuttle\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Airport Shuttle<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Line 203 (Expr<\/b><b>\u00e9s Aeropuerto &#8211; <\/b><b>Airport Express):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The express line linking the Atocha train station and the airport. The bus runs 24 hours every day of the year. However, Atocha stop works only between 06:00 and 23:30h. Overnight, the bus stop becomes Cibeles in central Madrid and the bus gets renamed as <\/span><b>N27 Expr<\/b><b>\u00e9s Aeropuerto<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bus goes every 15 &#8211; 20 min during the day and every 35 minutes during nighttime. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The journey takes 30 &#8211; 40 mins.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One way ticket costs 5\u20ac.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bus\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Bus<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Urban and intercity buses stop at and depart from each terminal at the airport in the arrivals area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>T1:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Line 200: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Connects Avenida de Am\u00e9rica transport Hub with the airport. The bus runs every 10 &#8211; 20 min from 05:00 to 23:30.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Line 101: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provides a link between Canillejas transport Hub and the airport. On work days (including Saturday) the line runs from 06:00 to 23:25h, on sunday and holidays from 07:30 to 23:25h. Depending on the traffic, you may wait from 15 to 30 minutes for the bus to arrive.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Line 822:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Starts at Madrid\u2019s T1 and goes to Coslada and San Fernando de Henares. It runs every day of the year from 06:00 to 23:30h.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Line 824:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The first stop is at airport at T1 and the destination is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Torrej\u00f3n de Ardoz and Alcal\u00e1 de Henares. Throughout the year the bus runs from 06:40 to 22:00h.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>T2:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>line 822 does NOT<\/b> <b>pass <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here,all other do.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>T3: <\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>lines 203, 822 and 824 do NOT stop <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at this terminal, others do.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>T4 &amp; T4S:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other than the <\/span><b>lines 203 and 200 which DO stop<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> here, there are two extra lines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Line 827:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> runs on the following route: Madrid (Canillejas) &#8211; Airport T4 &#8211; Alcobendas &#8211; Autonomous University &#8211; Tres Cantors. The bus goes from 06:00 to 23:00h.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Line 828: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">connects Madrid (Canillejas), Airport T4, Alcobendas and La Universidad Autonoma. The bus runs from 07:00 to 18:00h.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Long-distance buses to MAD: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To and from the Madrid airport there are connections to some a bit further cities.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company Avanzabus offers direct round trips between the airport and <\/span><b>\u00c1vila <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Salamanca<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Departures are from T1, bus parking area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company Alsa travels from the airport to:<\/span><b> Zaragoza, Barcelona, Valladolid, Le\u00f3n, Murcia, Alicante, Gij\u00f3n, Oviedo, Lugo, Coru\u00f1a, Santiago de Compostela, Burgos, Vitoria, San Sebasti\u00e1n, Santander, Bilbao, Logro\u00f1o<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Pamplona<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Departures are from T4, arrivals area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company Socibus connects the airport with parts of Andalusia: <\/span><b>Ayamonte, C\u00f3rdoba, C\u00e1diz, Jerez, Sevilla, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">etc. The departures are from the bus parking area at T1.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Metro\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Metro<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is a metro <\/span><b>line 8<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> connecting the T4 terminal to Nuevos Ministerios (Madrid city). The line has two stations at the airport.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The line runs from 06:05 to 01:30h.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first stop is T1-T2-T3 metro station and the journey from the city takes 13 &#8211; 15 min.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To the second stop there are extra 5 minutes of ride.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A single ticket costs 4,5\u20ac.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>NOTE:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Between two airport station there is a stop called Barajas. However, if you choose to take on, make sure you go only with the official ones (white with a red stripe at the door). A flat rate is 30,00 \u20ac one way, but the tariff may change due to traffic conditions, time of the day and season. The luggage is included in price no matter the tariff. Try to avoid taking taxis during rush hours on workdays because there is a chance the driver will overcharge you. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Transfer\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Transfer<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you don\u2019t like using the overcrowded public transport and hesitate to take a taxi, consider booking a private transfer which will wait for you on the airport and take you to your hotel or wherever you need to go. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A professional driver will be in the arrivals area with your name sign.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If necessary, child safety seats can be ordered in advanced.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Renting_a_car_at_Madrid_airport\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">Renting a car at Madrid airport<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are six car rental companies at the airport of Madrid. All of them are located in the arrivals area of T1 and T4. The airport is only 12 km away from the city so you can be sure you won\u2019t miss out on your flight. You can leave your stuff at luggage storages at the airport. The offices are open 24\/7 every day of the year. The price per day is 10,00\u20ac per item.
