Airport Linz, also known as <\/span>Blue Danube Airport Linz<\/b> and formerly known as <\/span>H\u00f6rsching Airport<\/b>, is a primary international airport near the third-largest city in Austria, Linz. It is located near the borders of Germany and Czech Republic, around <\/span>12 kilometers (~7 miles<\/b>) away from the <\/span>Linz city center<\/b>. It is relatively small and it handles about half a million passengers a year. There are several options to go to and from the airport.<\/span><\/p>\n

Public Transport<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The airport has a <\/span>good connection with the city center<\/b> via public transport so you can either take a bus or a train.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bus:<\/b><\/span> The <\/span>bus no. 601<\/b> links the airport to the city center. It departs from opposite <\/span>Linz Main Station\/K\u00e4rntnerstrasse<\/b> from <\/span>Monday to Saturday<\/b>, <\/span>every hour from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm<\/b>. The price for a single trip is <\/span>3.20 \u20ac<\/b> and there is an option of <\/span>a day ticket<\/b> for <\/span>6.40 \u20ac<\/b>. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Train: <\/b><\/span>There are trains which connect<\/span> Linz or Wels to the H\u00f6rsching train station<\/b> at hourly intervals. The journey takes around 10 minutes from\/to Linz and around 15 minutes from\/to Wels. The price of the single train ticket is <\/span>2,30 \u20ac for Linz<\/b> and <\/span>4,30 \u20ac for Wels<\/b>. There is a<\/span> free shuttle bus<\/b> which transfers the passengers on a relation <\/span>H\u00f6rsching train station-airport<\/b> where passengers have to show a <\/span>valid plane ticket<\/b>. This journey takes around 3 minutes and the service is available between <\/span>5:00 am and 10:00 pm.<\/b><\/p>\n

Taxi Service:<\/span>\u00a0<\/b>For those who prefer a more relaxed and comfortable type of transfer, a taxi may be a good option. At Linz airport, they can be found <\/span>directly outside the arrivals hall<\/b>. Approximate prices are <\/span>29 \u20ac<\/b> to get to the <\/span>Linz Central Station<\/b>, <\/span>35 \u20ac<\/b> to get to <\/span>the city center<\/b> and <\/span>48 \u20ac<\/b> to get to the <\/span>Wels<\/b>. In case you need to leave the airport promptly you are able to <\/span>book the taxi in advance<\/b>, and you can also contact one of the companies to pick you and take you to the airport. The transfer company will send a professional driver to pick you up. You can even <\/span>pre-order a child safety seat<\/b> if you are travelling with a child.<\/span><\/p>\n
