Got on bus at Skopje bus station beside central train station. Based off other reviews, we had printed off our online booking at our hotel. You must go to ticket office inside bus station beforehand where they will print off ticket to give to bus driver. Had to pay 100 denar “tax” at ticket office, can pay with card and they’ll give receipt.
Bus was 80-90% full but comfortable, safe drive. Borders were overall straightforward. Had to get off bus and present passport at Macedonian border but for Kosovo, Albanian and Montenegro, we handed passports to staff and stayed on bus while they were processed.
Bus arrived on time....As mentioned in other reviews, driver requested €1 per person charge to pay for big bags stored underneath. We did not have any denar / euros and drivers were annoyed with this but left us put bags in anyway. We Already paid a lot (€40) for ticket and no mention of extra charge on website. Likely this charge was going in bus drivers pocket.
Bus driver assistant quite rude/gruff. Be careful you don’t sleep through stop because they will not delay in moving on.
