Direct crossing in 8–10 hours. This international ferry offers a scenic direct route from Bari to Dubrovnik, taking between 8 hours and 10 hours, depending on the vessel and schedule. Departures are seasonal, typically operating from spring to autumn.
Book in advance and arrive early. With up to 5-8 sailings per week during peak season, cabins, vehicle slots, and meal tickets can sell out fast. Booking in advance secures your preferred accommodation and onboard services. On the day of travel, arrive at least half an hour early if on foot, and 2 hours earlier if bringing a vehicle.
Bring your vehicle or travel on foot. Cars, motorcycles, campervans, and bicycles are welcome onboard, but space is limited—especially in high season—so reserve early. Foot passengers can enjoy easy boarding with no hassle.
Meal and snack options on board. Enjoy cafés or restaurants serving hot meals, snacks, coffee, and drinks. Depending on the sailing time, pre-bookable buffet-style lunch or dinner may be available—perfect for mealtime without the wait.
Pets can come too. Pets are allowed on this route, but they’ll need their own ticket and a bit of prep. Small pets travel in carriers; larger ones must be leashed and muzzled, and can stay on deck or in designated kennels. Some ferries even offer pet-friendly cabins—just book early.
Accessible facilities are available. Most ferries offer ramps, lifts, and accessible restrooms. If you or someone you’re traveling with needs extra assistance, let the operator know in advance so they can be ready to help.
Know your port locations. The ferry from Bari departs from Molo San Vito, just a short drive from the city center. Look for signs for international ferries. You’ll arrive at Gruž Port, about 3 km from Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Taxis, buses, and rideshares are easy to find when you disembark.
Don’t forget your documents. This is an international route, so you’ll need a valid passport or EU ID card to board. If you're bringing a vehicle, have your driver’s license, registration, and insurance papers ready too. Keep everything handy—you may need to show them at check-in or during border control.
