Scenic 7-hour crossing. The ferry from Dubrovnik to Bari is a direct international route across the Adriatic Sea, taking around 6.5 to 7.5 hours. Most departures are in the evening, making it ideal for arriving in Italy by morning.
Seasonal departures—book early. This route operates from April through October, with sailings increasing during summer months. If you’re planning to travel in July or August, booking in advance is highly recommended, especially for cabins and vehicle spots.
Bring your vehicle or travel on foot. The ferry accommodates cars, motorcycles, campers, and bicycles, or you can simply board as a foot passenger. Vehicle boarding can be limited during high season, so reserving early helps avoid disappointment.
Comfort for the whole trip. You’ll find both standard seating and private cabins with or without bathrooms, making the journey more relaxing—especially if you're traveling overnight. Cabins are a great option if you want privacy, rest, and your own space for the duration.
Food, drinks, and onboard services. Facilities typically include a restaurant, café, bars, lounges, and a small duty-free shop. Some vessels also feature a children’s play area, a cinema room, or even a chapel for quiet time.
Pets travel onboard too. Pets are allowed, but they must be booked in advance and follow specific rules. Smaller pets usually travel in carriers, while larger ones stay on deck or in kennels, with a leash and muzzle required.
Arrive early at the port. Foot passengers should arrive at least an hour before departure, while vehicle passengers should plan for up to two hours. Check-in, boarding, and customs can take longer in peak season or during busy sailings. Also, the port is about 3 km from the Old Town, so make sure you depart on time.
Don’t forget your documents. A valid passport or EU ID is required, and if you’re bringing a vehicle, make sure you have your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance papers.
