Student Discount

Who doesn’t love a good discount? If you’re a student, you’re in luck — Traveling.com makes it easy to save while you explore. Whether you’re heading home for the weekend or planning a longer adventure, we’ve got some great student discounts to help you stretch your budget.

Here are some of the most asked questions:

Do all departures have a student discount?

Different bus companies on Traveling.com have different pricing — some charge a flat rate, while others offer discounts for certain groups, including students. To see the student price, just select the number of student passengers when booking (see the image below).

How do I check if a student discount is available for my departure?

After searching your route (e.g., Split to Zadar), the results will show all available departures, including any student discounts. To check if a price is discounted, hover over it — a small window will pop up showing the available group discounts for that route.

If you see “student” listed, that means a student discount is available, and the price should match the one you hovered over.

Is there a student discount on return tickets?

Yes, if the bus company offers a student discount on the way out, you’ll probably get one on the way back too — as long as you stick with the same company.

If you mix it up and pick a different company for the return trip, you can still get a student discount — but you’ll actually be buying two separate one-way tickets, not a discounted return.

Is a student ticket always cheaper than a regular ticket?

Good question, and the answer is – not necessarily. The cheapest ticket is usually the early bird ticket. If your route has an early bird discount, you’ll see a little discount symbol next to the price in the search results. You can also check the discounts section to see all routes with special discounts.

What document do I need to buy a student ticket?

There’s no strict rule about which student IDs are accepted — it’s usually up to the driver when you check-in. From what we’ve seen, students haven’t had any issues so far. If the driver doesn’t accept your student ID for some reason, you’ll need to pay the difference to a regular ticket.

And if you run into any trouble, no stress, just give our helpdesk a call (the number is on your ticket).

From what age to what age does the student discount apply?

    • Maja Tramontana

      Hi,

the student discount is not related to age but to the status of being a student.
That means that you need to provide a valid document to the driver before boarding the bus which proves that you are a student.

    Its not working

      Hi Ema,

if the student discount is not showing when you are searching for your route, that means that the carrier does not provide a student discount for that particular route.
In general, the discounts are displayed only if the carrier is actually providing one for a certain route.

      Hope this helps!

      Best,
      GBB Team
