The main airport in Louisiana state is the one in New Orleans. Out of all Louisiana airports, only New Orleans Airport handles the significant amount of air traffic. A total of 7 commercial airports in Louisiana offer year round flights. They combine for about 15 million yearly passengers, which is not a large number when compared to other USA states. These smaller Louisiana airports are mostly operated by Allegiant Air and American Eagle airlines.
